-
At The Playgroup Collective, we don't just accommodate parents; we support and uplift them- providing connection, relaxation, and supportive resources in a judgment-free environment.
We are passionate about fostering community through the Playgroup’s ‘come as you are’ drop-in style model, as well as via our many courses, workshops, and events for both children and caregivers.
-
We like to say that we are ‘Montessori with Heart’; by pairing our Montessori principles with community-driven experiences and events, we foster a unique environment where children learn independently and families grow together.
-
The Playgroup Collective is not just a play centre; it’s a safe, enriching space where both children and parents thrive—guided by empathy, insight, and a deep understanding of family dynamics. We are a go-to destination for parents and caregivers seeking a nurturing community, educational resources, and meaningful social connections.
Our Story
Established in the heart of Almonte Ontario in 2023, The Playgroup Collective was born out of a desire to have an inclusive and accessible community space for both littles and their caretakers in the Greater Ottawa Area. This dual purpose is at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to serve as a harmonious space where both play and relaxation thrive; where children can learn and be creative, and caregivers can find an inclusive community to unwind, socialize, and connect.

FounderYou may have met me through my work in social services, at my mediation practice, or in my previous cafe The Wild Child Coffee Project in Westboro, a space designed for families to gather, connect, and grow. My passion has always been people—how we support one another, how we heal, and how we build strong communities.
As a Certified Family Mediator and social justice worker with deep roots in restorative justice, I’ve spent my career helping families navigate life’s challenges, from conflict resolution to community-building. I believe that connection is at the heart of well-being, whether that’s through mediation, a welcoming play space for little ones and their caregivers, or a supportive network of parents figuring it out together.
That’s why I created this community hub—a place where families can find belonging, wisdom, and joy in the everyday moments of raising children. Whether you’re here to play, learn, or simply take a breath, I hope you feel at home and I look forward to meeting you!

Meet Jenna! Born and raised in Almonte, Jenna has a deep love for this community and the families who call it home. Currently finishing her second year at Carleton University, she is studying Child and Youth Work with a minor in Psychology—building on her already impressive experience supporting children and families. Before joining our team, Jenna worked in a local daycare and is a well-loved nanny in the Almonte area. Now, she brings her creativity and passion to our community hub, where she has the freedom to design engaging programs and meaningful experiences for the children and caregivers she works with.
Jenna is the wonderful, enthusiastic face of our classes bringing joy, movement, and connection to our youngest community members. Her warm energy, expertise, and dedication make her an incredible part of our space. Whether she’s leading a play-based activity, supporting families, or creating new ways to bring the community together, she does it all with heart. We’re so lucky to have her!
